To enable Citizen Historians to enrich existing records in our database and to create new ones that can be added to the Soldier Map, we have developed a series of helpful guides and identified fascinating source materials to explore further.

• Helpful Guides

  A range of guides are available to Citizen Historians to help them research the lives and experiences of Sikh soldiers in WW1.

  They will also find advice on how to catalogue and digitise family memorabilia, and how to record an oral history interview effectively.

• Source Records

  We have brought together a wide variety of online historic sources to help Citizen Historians learn more about their WW1 ancestor.

  We are also keen to encourage the creation of new records for individuals identified in these sources.
