UKPHA team member, Harbakhsh Grewal, had the pleasure of attending a very special WW1 Centenary reception in the garden of No.10 yesterday.
UKPHA was there to represent the Sikh contribution and to highlight our project 'Empire, Faith & War: The Sikhs and World War One' which launches next week at the Brunei Gallery, School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS) with a major exhibition from 9 July to 28 September 2014.
Other attendees included senior representatives from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Imperial War Museums, the National Archives, various government departments and an array of engaging Centenary projects big and small; as well as long time champion of the non-white Commonwealth's contribution, Baroness Flather, amongst many others, including school children.
