Harmeet Singh, the first Sikh to serve in Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps features in the Royal British Legion's TV commercial for the launch of the 2015 Poppy Appeal.

A Healthcare Assistant based in Catterick, in 2013, he started collecting donations for Sikh Khanda poppies (used for Remembrance tributes) and donated the funds to the Legion.

As part of the First World War Centenary commemorations, Harmeet took part in the Legion’s Every Man Remembered TV campaign in 2014, calling on the nation to remember all those who died in WW1, particularly the thousands from countries that were then part of the British Empire.

I know there’s a charity I can go to not only to help me but my family as well.

That makes me feel so much better and other young people in the military should know about it (the Legion) too.

Harmeet will be appearing across the country in newspapers and magazines, as well as on posters and billboards as part of the 2015 Poppy Appeal campaign.
