The UKPHA team had the great pleasure and honour of showing Jaimal Singh Johal - the grandson of the legendary Manta Singh of the 15th Ludhiana Sikhs - around our exhibition.
He and his wife were given a special personal tour which culminated in a look at an album featuring Manta Singh and the man whose life he saved - his British officer, Captain Henderson.

Manta Singh's story and the connection between the two families which has endured to this day is just one of the amazing forgotten or untold stories of the Sikhs and WW1.
